All the coffee grown for Down Home Coffee is grown at high-altitude. The sources are family operated, independent farms from several different nations. The coffee is all sorted and weighed to make sure only the best coffee is used. All the coffee is roasted in small batches to ensure the best quality control and a repeatable flavor. Once roasted the coffee is either packed whole bean or ground and then packaged. All packages are nitrogen flushed. The bags of coffee have a one-way valve to ensure that fresh aroma and flavor you want. Whole Bean or Ground you are sure to get a great coffee.

To brew hot coffee, start with 2 Tbsps coffee per 6 fl oz of cold water. For a whole pot (12cup), use 2 oz by weight of ground coffee, or about ¾ cup. Brew and enjoy. For a milder flavor use less coffee, for a stronger flavor add more coffee.

Tips: Coffee is best if the maker heats the water to near 200 degrees F. Try using a carafe to hold the hot coffee instead of a hot plate or heated pot. This will help the flavor stay just like the first cup and not allow evaporation or burning.

To cold brew coffee, fill a container with 4 cups of cold water (a mason jar will work great) and add ¾ cup of grounds to the water. Let steep at room temperature for 12-24 hours (the longer it steeps the stronger the flavor). After straining, store in the refrigerator. This coffee can also be brewed hot then poured over ice. Keep in mind that this will be a milder coffee than cold brewing.
